In the Cannaregio sesteri (district) of Venice, Italy, the Jewish Ghetto will celebrate its 500th anniversary in 2016. (The current meaning of “ghetto” originated here.) The Ghetto and its five synagogues are under restoration.

In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Dubai Tram began running in November 2014. Its 6½-mile route begins at the marina, connecting with the Red Line of the Dubai Metro, and continues for 11 stops along the waterfront.
