We're considering a trip to Slovenia (encompassing Zagreb, Ljubljana, Lake Bled and other highlights) as well as to Split (have already been to Dubrovnik a couple of times, Montenegro and Mostar. Trafalgar and Grand European Tours have similar trips which also goes to Dubrovnik and that area. However, we're not thrilled with the aspect of a being on a bus with 30+ people.
Has anyone used a private company to arrange a tour (either overseas or US)? I plan to contact General Tours to see what they may be able to do but would like other recommendations. Thanks!

Found Company - Adventures Abroad
Found a company that advertises in ITN -- Adventures Abroad, www.adventures-abroad.com. They have suggested a private tour for the 2 of us with an itinerary that is exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately, we now can't do it 'til hopefully Sept. 2014
You can rent a car and travel
You can rent a car and travel on your own... it is very easy to get around and book hotels/zimmers as you drive thru - we averaged $45 Euro places just about everywhere. Get a good guiding books such as Rick Steves of Fodors ... Lake Bled was beautiful - plan on 2-days to admire the beautiy of it... the caves, the coastline, Uhm for truffles, and down the Dalmatian coast.... have fun!
P.S. Lake Plitvice a must...
