Driving in Costa Rica

<p>Would it be safe for a family (mother, father, 3 little kids) to self-drive from San Jose to Nosara on the Pacific Coast?&nbsp; It&#39;s something like a 5 hour drive, I&#39;m told.&nbsp; Any dangers from road bandits or the like?</p><p>How about driving the 2+ hours from the airport in Liberia to Nosara?&nbsp; Shorter distance, but looks more remote.</p><p>Thanks for any advice.</p>

I visted Costa Rica recently on a tour. Although it is not as unsafe as other Central American countires, it still may not be safe for touring by yourself. Should your rental car break down you might find yourself in a bad situation.Check out verifed services that could tranport your family to the coast safely.
