I'm looking to spend a few days in Berlin next fall (September or early October of 2018 ), and would love to do a "City Break," with a (preferably small) group. I'm looking for 3-4 days, with lodging and sightseeing (some guided, but also some free time) and would probably be either flying there from London, or flying to London after I visit Berlin. Every "tour" I have found is multi-city and for a longer period of time (and more money!). I just want to see Berlin!! Hoping some experienced ITN travelers have some thoughts!

Berlin is a very easy city to visit on your own. I wouldn't hesitate. Use a Hop On-Hop Off bus for basic sightseeing. Or sign up for an American Express (or another like company) guided full-day city tour. After that, you are good to go wherever you want. You can spend days just at the museums. Go to the wonderful department store, KaDeWe. I could have stayed for hours. Have lunch at one of the numerous cafes in the food halls. Your hotel can probably help you with tickets to concerts and opera, but I bet you can walk up to the ticket window and buy your own, depending on availability. Take a relaxing stroll through the Tiergarten and enjoy looking at the people and street performers. If you like history, Berlin is full of it. A day trip to Potsdam would be most interesting to see Sans Souci Palace, the New Palace, and lots of other sites. Do not give visiting Berlin another thought. It's a wonderful city for almost anything you want to do.
