Appreciate comments on Garuda Airlines , Indonesia

We are planning to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Jogyakarta (via Jakarta) but our organizer of the tour in Malaysia refuses to use Garuda Air to get us to Indonesia, even though they provide the best connections. Should we be concerned with their safaty or reliability ? Anybody has any experience with them ? Thank you, Zofia

I flew them within Indonesia with no particular complaints, but I didn't have a whole lot of choice. I don't think their safety record is very good, and for KL to Jakarta I would (and did) use a different airline.
