<p>I am interested in a cruise originating in West Africa. So far, I am only aware of Odysseys Unlimited's tour. Any information (both good and bad) is appreciated.

Princess Cruises has a "West Africa Adventure" -- 28 days on the Ocean Princess from Cape Town and Dover (port for London) that includes the Namibian ports of Lüderitz and Walvis Bay, Cotonou (Benin), Lomé (Togo), Tema (Ghana), Dakar (Senegal), Cape Verde Islands, Canary Islands and continues to Casablanca and Europe. The sailing departs on May 6, 2012.
This is a segment of their world cruise itinerary. This is a general link to their itineraries (it is a .pdf file): www.princess.com/learn/destinations/new_programs/pdf/2011_2012_exotics_o...
I tried to find a link to the specific sailing for you, but couldn't, so you could contact them for a catalog to see the full itinerary: www.princess.com/customer_care/contact/index.jsp

This probably isn't helpful at all, but I took ElderTreks' Cultural West Africa trip Feb 2010. It went to Mali and Burkina Faso, very interesting, especially the Dogon country in Mali. And who doesn't want to say that they've been to Timbuktu? But the only "cruise" was 2 days down the Niger River, camping overnight on the shore.
Lindblad Expeditions runs a West Africa cruise also, but not cheap. Disclaimer: I haven't taken this trip.
