Transporting Personal Car to Florida

We are considering having our personal car transported to Florida in lieu of making the 900+ mile drive. We would just fly to our destination in Florida; has anyone done this or know anything about it? And can make any recommendations on what companies to contact, do's and don't related to this, etc
