Four of us (two senior couples) plan to visit South America – Peru, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia. We travel worldwide typically making our own arrangements. But this time we want to explore if any local travel agent might help us with flights, local transportation and occasional guide. Will appreciate if anybody has any recommendation and is willing to share. Thank you.

I used Travel de Colombia
I used Natura Travel de Colombia (www.naturatraveldecolombia.com) in Colombia and they were excellent. Very accountable, answered emails quickly and were able to design a 2 week trip to southern Colombia that fit my needs. For transportation and touring in Buenos Aires, I use Pablo Menendez, a well-informed, English speaking driver. email: pablo336menendez@hotmail.com; facebook at: Buenosairestaxi For Manaus, Brazil, I used Shalom Tour www.shalomexpeditions.com
Peru Travel Agency
We used Fertur Travel in Peru after seeing a very complimentary article in ITN. They planned a custom tour for us and we were very pleased with all arrangements. The website is: www.fertur-travel.com
DIY
I looked at using a local TA for my 2012 trip to SA. It was two months, Rio to Santiago via Patagonia. I was not satisfied with the responses I got and traveled independently. I did not find SA any more difficult than anywhere else to DIY.
