Athens trip

Family of four adults and two children ages 4 and 7 planning an april trip to greece. Can anyone suggest an area of athens where we can rent a house or apartment for a week. Also recommendations for a guide and what we might expect to be able to see in a week. One last question what is the best way to get from athens to istanbul.

Here's a starting point, you might also consider a travel agent and travel book on Greece.

When we were planning our Athens trip, we found the following website very helpful: http://www.athensguide.com. Under Services section is one called "villas" but it covers apartments. Rest of site has some real practical information. Our favorite area is Plaka but I don't know if there are many apartments available there.
