Maldives resort bubble

Visitors to the Indian Ocean island nation of Maldives can enter a resort bubble, allowing them full access to all of the facilities and activities at their resort while protecting the country’s general population.

While in a resort bubble, visitors are required to wear masks and social-distance in any indoor public space and also while participating in any guided or supervised activities. With prior permission, guests can stay in more than one bubble resort during their stay.

Before traveling to Maldives, visitors are required to book at a participating resort (go to visitmaldives.com/en/resorts), submit an online health declaration within 24 hours of departure and present a negative result of a COVID-19 test taken within 96 hours of leaving from the first point of departure, so long as any transit stop en route does not exceed 24 hours.

Between Jan. 1 and Feb. 17, 2021, more than 140,000 tourists visited Maldives, a country with a population of about 380,000.
