Sharjah rain installation

Located in Al Mujarrah Park, on Corniche Street in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the Rain Room art installation features a constant downpour of rain that you can walk through without ever getting wet. As you walk across the room, tracking cameras follow your progress, and the water is shut off in a 6-foot radius above you. The facility's 2,500 gallons of water is filtered and recycled.

The Rain Room is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sat.-Thurs. and 4-11 p.m. on Fri. Entry, AED25 (near $7). For safety reasons, dark or reflective clothing and high heels should not be worn in the Rain Room. For info, contact the Sharjah Art Foundation (phone +971 6 561 0095, www.sharjahart.org).
