Deadly Indonesia election protests

At least six people were killed and more than 200 injured in Jakarta, Indonesia, when people protesting the reelection of president Joko Widodo were fired upon in a clash with police on May 21. The protests were peaceful until some protesters began throwing objects at police and vandalizing vehicles. Police responded with tear gas but deny using live ammunition against protesters.
