Yemen air strike

A Saudi-led air strike targeted a hotel and market in Sa’dah, in northern Yemen, on Nov. 1, killing at least 26 people. Sa’dah is controlled by the Houthi, a minority ethnic group that has been involved in a civil war in Yemen since March 2015. Saudi Arabia, along with a coalition of other Arabian Peninsula countries, has targeted Houthi sites in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.

The UN estimates that more than 20 million people are in need of humanitarian aid in Yemen but are unable to receive any due to the ongoing civil war and a coalition naval blockade of the country. 

A cholera outbreak in Yemen is believed to have infected more than 800,000 people, killing more than 2,000 of those.
