RuMeID luggage tags

My wife, Patti, and I ordered two luggage tags from RuMeID (Centennial, CO; 303/799-4256, www.rumeid.com) on the TripAdvisor store, and they have a unique feature: each RuMeID tag comes with a QR code that helps you be reunited with your bag if it’s lost.

Before a trip, you log in to the RuMeID website and register your tag, then enter the names of the hotels you’ll be staying at plus the dates.

Once you do that, if your luggage goes missing during your trip, anyone who finds it can use a smartphone to scan the tag’s QR code, allowing the finder to locate your hotel and also contact you by phone or email without your phone number or email address being revealed to the finder.*

In the past, before each trip, we used to print labels listing our hotels at the destinations we would be traveling to. We would insert the labels into our luggage tags so any lost bags could be forwarded to us and not simply sent back to the US.

With RuMeID, each time you plan a new trip, you can clear the last trip’s schedule and put in the information about your new hotels.

We bought two sets of tags at the webpage the-tripadvisor-store.myshopify.com/products/luggage-tag, paying $7.95 per set, for a total of $17.90 for the four tags. (The price has gone up now to $9.99 for a set of two.)
