The New York Times is offering Student Journeys, educational trips for high school students, with departures starting in summer 2017.

Each journey is based on a current event being covered by the Times, and it will be led by a Times reporter or an expert in the field.

Some subjects include “China: Business & Economics in a Rising Market” (18 days, 17 nights, $7,190), “CERN & the Swiss Alps: Pushing the Boundaries of Science” (14 days, 13 nights, $6,990) and “Oxford Journalism: Media & Digital Storytelling” (14 days, 13 nights, $6,990).

To be accepted into a Student Journey, students must be in one of the grades 9th through 12th. An application, filled out by a parent or guardian, is required and must include two teacher references and a statement from the student. Visit www.nytimes.com/times-journeys/students or call 866/870-2095.
