The US Department of State warns that travel to all areas of Afghanistan remains unsafe due to the ongoing risk of kidnapping, hostage taking, military combat operations, land mines, banditry, armed rivalries between political and tribal groups, militant attacks, direct and indirect fire, suicide bombings and insurgent attacks.
Extremists associated with various Taliban networks, Daesh and other armed opposition groups are active throughout the country.
