Cotswold ‘Secret Cottage’

Travelers in the North Cotswolds can visit a 400-year-old thatched “Secret Cottage,” and get a glimpse into 17th-century life, during a 6-hour tour put on by Cotswold Tourism Tours (call Becky Simpson at +44 1608 674 700 or visit www.cotswoldtourismtours.co.uk). 

Guests are picked up at 10:15 a.m. at the rail station in Moreton-in-Marsh and returned there at 4:30 p.m. At the cottage, furnished with antique furniture and decorated in an Elizabethan style, visitors enjoy lunch and afternoon cream tea. Depending on the time of year, they also may see a village festival, Morris dancers or farmers’ markets.

Running year-round, except Dec. 25-26, the tour costs £85 (near $132) per person. Maximum, seven guests; no children under 6.
