Paris audio guide app

A free app called Visitobus (www.visitobus.com) has just been released, offering an audio guide of Paris that can be used on smartphones.

You listen to the guide while riding on a regular city bus on popular bus routes 27, 30, 42 and 69, which include most of the tourist sites in central Paris. In between stops, you learn about local history.

While using the app during my visit at the end of April and beginning of June 2014, I learned snippets of history, saw the layout of the city, with the popular tourist sites, and could get on and off the bus for 1½ hours — all for the price of a regular city bus ticket.

It was so easy and fun to use. It is available for Apple devices at the App Store and for Android devices on Google Play.
