Switzerland dining

My wife, Judy, and I enjoyed the following restaurants in Switzerland in September ’10.

In LUZERN, along the canal leading to Lake Lucerne, we had lunch with two friends at the charming Restaurant Rathaus Brauerei (Unter der Egg 2, CH-6004 Luzern; phone +41 41 410 52 57). For four persons, the luncheon special and beer cost CHF125 (about $131).

In AROSA we ate lunch at Posthotel Arosa’s Restaurant Pöstli (Oberseepromenade CH 7050 Arosa; phone +41 [0] 81 378 5000), overlooking the lake and quite charming. For two, small portions of schnitzel, fries and beer cost CHF40.70 ($43).

ELLIKON AM RHEIN is a tiny village about three miles from Flaach. We had dinner there alongside the Rhine at Rhygarte Zum Schiff (Dorfstrass 22, 8464 Ellikon am Rhein; phone 052 319 32 32). This was a special treat. Four of us had grilled brats, fries and local beer for CHF86 ($90).
