China’s monsoon

In the heaviest rainfall to hit China in more than a decade, torrential rains along the Yangtze River in southern China in June and July caused floods, landslides and a bridge collapse. More than 1,250 people were killed and over 100,000 were evacuated from riverside villages. Economic losses top $22 billion.
