Rue de la Providence apartment in Nice

The apartment at 13 rue de la Providence in Nice, FRANCE (call Gerald Bedrich in the U.K. at [0033] [0] 626140006 or 493319297 [up to 9 p.m. U.K. time] or visit www.nice studios.co.uk), is in a great location in the Vieux Nice (Old Town).

It’s very near the Gare Routière bus stop, convenient for taking day trips by bus and for the city’s public transit. The Gare Lycée and Garibaldi stops are also nearby. There is a bus that goes directly from the airport to Gare Routière.

The apartment is up a hill, but the owner will meet you at the Gare Routière and point out the route that doesn’t involve steps (no autos are allowed in the Vieux Nice). We had rolling bags, so it was no problem. This location is also great for its access to restaurants and the Cours Saleya market.

Our total rent for a 9-day stay in February ’06 was $740, including linen and towels. We booked online and used PayPal for payment.

The apartment is used by the owner’s family members on occasion, so it was very well stocked with the basics. We were provided with milk, butter, dish soap, wine, etc., to get us started.

It was fairly quiet. The only noise came from the garbage cans being dragged down the hill very early each morning and the hosing down of the street, also very early in the morning.

The owner also has other apartments in Vieux Nice. He’s very hands-on and makes sure everything goes smoothly before and during your stay.
